Premiere Screening of "Oh My, What a Night!" March 18th in Portland

We are very pleased announce the premiere screening of the newest Tango Silent Film, “Oh My, What a Night!” in Portland OR at Tango Berretín. So many members of the Portland Tango Community (over 60 people!) were involved with the production of this wonderful film and it means so much to us to be able to share it with all of you!

The Film:
“Oh My, What a Night!” (Episode #3 of the Tango Silent Films Project)
Runtime 11.5 minutes
Description: Follow our hero, Buddy St. Cloud, and his fellow silent film characters as they navigate through the rich and sometimes confusing culture of tango, learning just what it takes to get a dance. “Oh My, What a Night!” is a short silent film with an Argentine Tango soundtrack in the style of 1920’s “two-reelers” that’s full of laughs, surprises and fun.

The Dance:
The film will be screened during a very special Tango Silent Films themed “aime comme moi” Milonga Argentine tango social dance party). Come dressed up in vintage-esque attire if you like and take part in the zany spirit and mad-capped fun of the tango film world that we are creating. Costumes are option, of course, but if you’re looking for ideas, read our blog post on film costumes at http://tangosilentfilms.com/blog/2011/01/costumes-guide-for-appearing-in-tango-silent-films/. If you are new to Argentine tango, Joe Leonardo will be offering a wonderful beginner’s class this evening from 8 to 9pm.

Short Film Screening at The “aime comme moi” Milonga

Joe Leonardo and his incredibly dedicated cast and crew have completed the 2nd TANGO SILENT FILM, a 10-minute tango-related silent film that is guaranteed to bring much laughter, smiles and surprise.

We had a blast making it and are very proud of the hard work we put in. This film was made possible by the support of the Portland tango community and we very much want to share it with all of you. It will be shown this Friday during at the milonga at Berretín, just a brief diversion from a great night of dancing. Here’s the info:
